I still don't get why mangakas announce the end of their mangas when there's still so much room for more. If he's bored or it's taking too much out of him, just take a break. Ending the story completely when it's getting good is crazy. It's Be Blues all over again.
Yeah, especially when you don't know if your next work will be as good/popular as your previous one, thought i think he can always come back later with a sequel.

So so shocked to hear the manga is ending after the Barca match. As an avid football lover, this manga has been the best imo to portray the game and I'm glad I got to read this. At the same time, I feel there is so much more to explore with Aoi's story. The fact we don't even get to see him make a senior appearance for Esperion is sad. This manga needs the Major treatment where we can see him grow up and evolve in different arcs from youth to senior.

Did you read the statement of the author? I'm as sad as everyone that it's ending, but this is what he planned from the very start. I think it's disrespectful to imply the story is boring him, when he's writing exactly what he wanted to write. I think it's great he's allowed to end the series how he planned it, not every mangaka gets that luxury.

great chapter, but not liking how next chapter will be the last. it feels so rushed. Hes still a youth, and the best has yet to come and they're gonna leave us all hanging like that? very disappointing.

My bet on Akutsu as the finisher was spot on !
Seems like I was the only one annoucing this, I'm quite surprised, cause we already saw how a great finisher he could be, and the fact he was moving forward leaving the back was quite a hint (and seeing the surprise of the partners showed it couldn't be an offensive player). Everything was leading to him as the finisher.

Too bad this manga is soon over, while it's only an international youth friendly tournament. Yeah, I also have this Slam Dunk feeling, even if this one was probably even worse (I'm still frustrated not even knowing who won the tournament, and not seeing that young guy who seemed a monster playing a game).
But things were also becoming difficult, and a bit too much, maybe if the mangaka had been pushing further it would start to feel like you are reading Tsubasa or Blue Lock with some impossible moves. So maybe it's better to stop at the right moment.
And who knows, maybe one day we'll get a sequel about Aoi's pro career

Also what the fuck man the manga is ending after this match apparently? Author can make the ending peak if he make Damian lose his shit after this game.
Not surprised tbh. This whole arc gave me shokugeki no souma after asahi took over the story vibes. Fleshing out the villain is cool and all, but these authors really need to learn that people want the story to revolve around the mc, not some random goober introduced 300+ chapters into the manga.

I wasn't implying it was boring at all! I was saying IF he's bored not that he is, I don't know the exact reason obviously. I figured it was like the Vagabond author where he's taking a break from the manga cause he wasn't into it anymore. He's allowed to end the series however he wants, I'm just sad that it's ending when Ashito is reaching a new level. I hope there's a sequel to the story, I've been hearing rumors that it's going to be a Captain Tsubasa route.

That's why I asked if you had even read his message because he clearly explains it...

so this is what people expect from TAA lol

it will be funny if the manga ended right here but I expect it will be like many sports manga where they released a sequel featuring big timeskip.
