could be a penalty, could be referee favoritism. From how the panel is drawn we can't tell shit

oh and someone in the last chapter's comments remembered the author calling this game a nightmare dozens of chapters back. Good point, seeing as this chapter references that again

I don't get why everyone calls referee bs, ball doesn't leave (like if the tackle is successful) and it's clear the hit on the leg.

Here the problems were 2:
1) Ashito not capable of keeping up
2) his teammate rushing things, Barça's player was decentralized so he could have just tried to cut inside to cover a part of the goal, leaving the rest to the GK. And even if he wasn't fast enough to cover, he was too behind to make a successful tackle

Fuck, penalty in this minute is huge blow for Esperion.

I'm more worried the author take Hanamichi's route. The MC had a severe injury that required him to took a rehab.
I think/hope is just exhaustion. I think/hope what Ashito is feeling is cramps and not pain because of a possible injury. Of course, exhaustion increases the chances of an injury, but let's hope for the best.

See it's like I said, every character is reinforcing it, Ashito isn't injured he's just completely exhausted. This is something he will overcome in the next year or two before he becomes a pro. Odd that the coach is arguing he already had limitless stamina but he will ACTUALLY have enough stamina to play at this level for a whole match in another year or two.

As for the referee call, people are calling it bs super prematurely. The panel is deliberately drawn so you can't tell how dangerous the tackle was, it seems like a fair call to me, but it also could've been Xhaka deliberately using his reaction time to fake contact. Doesn't mean the referee is bad, if he saw it from the angle that the audience is shown it then 9 out of 10 refs would make the same call.
