it's definitely something the sisters intentionally did , since her swimming cap is like that too, https://mangadex.org/chapter/0ae380b3-dafd-4bde-a888-8083ac14d21d/48 unlike everyone else's cap (all white).

does makes them look weird/alien like , so we'll probably get an explanation for why they chose this fashion later.

one thing it makes me think of is Teru teru bōzu , so maybe someone in the family really doesn't like rain or something (like some really tragic stuff happened on rainy days?)
