This is written by a woman, a mother, I am a bit confused why she would keep making the guy so dumb.
I mean let's be honest, the real reason is because if they fucked the series would be over. Also can't have sex in a comic book for kids.

But it's the author's job to make sex not happen for a good(believable) reason, and some kind of self-imposed iron celibacy is not a good reason

I wonder how "fujoshi girl" will take the news... Will she ignore reality or move on to a new pairing?

My man, his aversion to anything sexual has been explained and revealed long before. Dude isn't even known to have jerked it ever. Obviously this is so the manga can keep going, but a lot of people can't pick up simple context clues.

Nah fuck the kiss, I need her to jack him off. Skip the step, jack his raging boner off!! Make him cum!! And then you go back to trying to kiss because that would be fucking funnier.

Plenty of older-shounen demo romcoms have had couples either fucking or near-fucking on the regular. And not just at the end. Like confessions and first kisses, a good series should take sex as just another milestone along the storytelling journey.

If it were truly being artificially delayed here, that'd be one thing. But these two rushing along would itself be artificial. Yeah, she's more horny than a zoo full of monkeys -- but she's never expressed that directly and it runs completely counter to how she has expressed herself in the past. At the same time, he has had absolutely zero positive reinforcement when it comes to simply being male, let alone the very new and incredibly confusing male feelings he's experiencing. That these two managed to forge a romantic connection in the first place is nothing short of miraculous; only in thin books does it zip along any faster.

1) Why does it NEED to be over? What about all the problems that pop after they are a official couple? There are plenty of series, there is seinen stuff where you just see what couples do, again the author has the experience to know what happens after that, she could write it.
You know what is a chapter I really liked in Sweat and Soap? (Seinen I know) where they are looking around for a house to find, it felt grounded, something they were doing together and perhaps with some interesting points to think about when shopping for a house.

2) Oh really? Well, let's see, Exhibit a) all those scenes where she imagined doing the deed were quite graphic.
exhibit b) You might be right so I looked up where this is published "Young Magazine the 3rd" then I looked what else they published, I picked the flashiest one "Isekai Hitokko Dōbutsuen" finished in 2022 after 5 volumes. Not exactly kid material, check the tags https://www.mangaupdates.com/series/urckrq1/isekai-hitokko-doubutsuen
I also checked the Raws, it can get dark, sexually.
Though, doesn't look worth reading.
3) Mangadex says the demographic of this is Seinen too.

So I don't think those obstacles exist.

I dunno, I never submitted a romcom to a magazine. You tell me why 99% of romcoms end on a kiss. Although technically they are both minors so...

Seinen is not an age demographic, it's a social demographic. And that demographic is "loser males".

Damn Sweet and soap is so good, also a good example for this, cuz the author itself said he wished he didn't rushed their relationship on the beggining, so most of their development was when they were already in a relastionship (which i don't dislike, honestly). On Arakure people simply forgot that kiritsu haves to keep good grades and reputation (that she was trying to ruin at the beggining) cuz he is a scholarship holder, plus if her family descovers that he is that close to her they would probably interfere somehow. Anyway, i enjoy a good slow development. People on this manga comments section are aways SO HORNY it hurts

Well this is why One shots are not usually canon, but eh is still over 90+ chapters of goodness, very rare.
Anyway, I hope this story explores sexuality in a mature way because it feels like Manga does a poor job in most cases.

My point is 1) the magazine could allow it 2) past that point more can still be explored about these characters, I want to believe damn it.

Yup i agree! My fav part about Sweet and Soap is the way they handle things, even when it's hard to adress the problem they talk about it and try to grow togheter. I feel like Arakure is doing great on that when we see them actually adressing what they said before and discussing their problems. Anyway, i feel the author is also trying to make things good and meaningful, and i also want to believe it will have deeper development. some romances just ignore the grouth after the sex part and that's a huge turn down for me...idk
