I still recall when the first chapter was uploaded and I was in disbelief. It was a pleasant surprise.

Hats off to Hokuto Army for scanlating this. One of Tatsumi's representative works, and with good reason.

True. I started reading without noticing his name and was very surprised realising he was the author,
he usually wrote more somber and realistical stories while this one is very flashy and pulpy:
at times it seems like reading something from Kazuo Koike or Go Nagai, and I'm digging it.
Really should have released more like this

This is the first multivolume manga by Tatsumi I've read and can safely say that he isn't that good in the long form narratives. The story often meanders, especially in the first part, and the characters behave randomly, mostly in the second one. Still interested to see how it'll end, though.

I enjoyed it (first half mostly) but we can safely say he's overrated.
The real gekiga greats were the Tsuge brothers and Takao Saito

Interestingly they collaborated on a manga once (Hanappe Bazooka). Not translated though, but I wonder what kind of feel it has given their styles. Though Koike worked with an enourmous amount of artists.

Only the first four chapters have been translated, tho the first chapter is missing color pages from the digital version.

anyway the story is Tatsumi's worst work. He's better off with short stories and Rental Manga length stories, only good thing is the art style.
