I've found so much more joy in manga where the characters don't secretly know everything about each other because they met as toddlers and have the exact same characteristics and interests as back then.

At least in this case the forgotten childhood friend trope helped explain why the beautiful and popular girl was immediately on board woth being engaged with the loved protagonist.
Anyway, we got a decent closure and the protagonist had character development, but would've been nice to get at least one or two more chapters with their date.
