This series so far is really a breath of fresh air. I'm lovin it.

To me it seems like Asako is clearly depressed and running away from some shit that's in her head. Clearly she's getting away from certain people as well, but I get the feeling that she's their scapegoat. Like a situation where someone died or killed themselves and they're basically pointing the finger and saying: "You killed them" -- because of something she did, or failed, to do. Basically, trying to make sure she suffers so they can avoid their own part in it all.
Guess we'll see. Maybe she did straight-up kill someone. There's plenty of reasons to do so without being a bad person; still wouldn't make it easy for the dead's family/friends to accept, though.

Thanks for the release.

Yeah, I really doubt she murdered anyone. My guess is, what happened was something like what @Happily_Grim said, there was
a situation where someone died or killed themselves and they're basically pointing the finger and saying: "You killed them" -- because of something she did, or failed, to do.
It could've been an accident, someone's suicide, maybe self-defence. If she really had murdered someone, she would've been in prison right now, she's also way too young to have served her sentence.

I'm really invested in this story.

Not only is it an interesting Character study-it kinda reminds me of if Bless Me, Ultima and The Great Gatsby had a child and that child was Japanese-but it also is tense and you're constantly questioning who this person is, and what circumstances lead them to make the decisions they did. The reveal at the end made a seemingly cutesy chapter immediately more tense and the fact one little line can make everything we read up to this point so feel so much more scary is great writing, honestly.
