@cgr
Frontpage also says we have 60 chapters. So 12 left.
My complaint with this series is that it's hardly an adventure. I mean we never really went on an adventure this entire time. It should be called Asebi and Waldecia. Or something like that.
I mean I would've loved if this series actually had some sort of adventuring done, it really gave off that One Piece sense of adventuring through the dialogues but it's way too singularly focused on Waldecia.
The first arc was just Yu fighting Gram over Asebi/the map. Following that arc Yu reveals they know where the Waldecian ship that Geng rode on is, and they go get that ship. Then they go to Licorice's Island and fight (which was ridiculously long). Now we get a timeskip arc where they head to Brant/Waldecia finally. And we still know next to nothing about what's happening. The main plot has been: "Get to Brant". This entire fucking time. Sort of annoying really, especially since we were told about all these amazing relics but they just fall into Yu's lap. He never really had to work to get any of them. Asebi was found by Geng, and all their other relics was from Geng's ship (and all of them are super fucking convenient). Yu hasn't really found anything by his own effort. And there's not even much to explore since what's the point of exploring anywhere BUT Waldecia. We've been told that the only thing anyone is ever looking for are Waldecian Relics.
It'd be like if in One Piece that Luffy found the map to One Piece at the start of the story. What's left to wonder about? He's practically at the goal already.
And if what I
think is happening in Waldecia is true, then all the more reason to simply have the characters get there immediately and get it over with. The one mystery of Waldecia doesn't create the entirety of the story, since the fallout would be just as interesting. But the world building here hasn't been the best considering that we don't understand the political climate of the world. Obviously any Waldecian technology would cause military conflict from different factions, but it doesn't seem like there are separate political factions in this world at all. So essentially Waldecia will be saved more or less, and then everyone in the world will be better off because there's no political friction that exists, despite even Waldecia falling to a civil war. Seems rather odd that the advanced civilization would supposedly fall prey to politics but not this current one. I'll wait to the end for final judgement to see how it all gets explained. IF it gets explained that is.
