Wait, the past time doesn’t skip forwards while they’re back in the present? That’s just conventional anime time travel but easier. You can at any time jump forwards to check the consequences of your actions or do research about the past, then jump back again having missed not a second. Of course this time we have both a social problem and probably a murder problem to solve, so our MC needs all the help he can get. Well, he can’t keep redoing the past like Hououin Kyouma so it’s not full easy-mode.

Wierd time travel logic aside, it seems like this story is building well and the charecters seem to have some depth that might differentiate them. We'll see
