she definitley is strong mentally, and while a complete beginner with magic at the start gets better and stronger throughout the manga

though if you want an assertive more dominant female mc she isnt that ig

I can recommend Shut Hell. I wont say it 100% meets to your requirements, but

• 'badass female mc' - absolutely
• 'with medieval' - I mean, kinda?
• 'fantasy setting... with magic' - there are definitely some (little) supernatural stuff, but it's not the focus of the manga
• 'and sword' - yup, it's there

Also you can check out these for strong fmc:

Badass in medieval fantasy is a bit abstract.
I mean, there's that female knight with the dog ear kid, the female elf knight, the female knight and barbarian, etc.
which looks badass, but kinda leaned toward romance/sol story.
There's also that female master blade reincarnation, that old hag knight/queen reincarnation, the grimoire lday, that "chisato" in fantasy magic world anime a while back.
Does the generic adventurer/isekai setting counts as medieval fantasy? Like that guild receptionist fantasy, or nia liston, or that female assassin isekai, or that other female assassin isekai, etc. etc. Lots and lots of villainess in this part.
Even that sword isekai. Wasn't the protagonist a girl? I don't read it.

maybe too board...at least female mc who is brave with less to nothing damsel in distress...they can solve their own problem without suddenly love interest save her (its okay, if its not too often)

medieval fantasy atleast have kingdom, nobility, knight, and the weapon around sword, bow, and spear (not gun or modern weapon)
