People always complain about Isekai tropes and wish fulfillment inserts. You do know thats not inherently bad right? Just like a Mary Sue it has its place. If done right and presented to the right audience you don't need anything more than tropes in a story. MHA is basically just a really good Shounen afterall.

Point is that i don't complain about Yuri content when im reading a Yuri story. If you want something unique thats fine but not being unique is not inherently bad. The self inserts are also fine if done right. Stuff like self inserts and power fantasy are done by people who can't write well a lot of the time and its not good. Thats a matter of writing though.

I dislike the captured princess story but only because its so often handled badly. I do however drop the series when it happens. I dropped sword art online the moment they left the game. I dropped bleach for a long time when Orihime got caught. The helpless damsel is used for reasons i do not sympathize with so i don't enjoy it. I do however not just say "captured princess" and assume everyone understands thats bad because it just is.

If your going to critique things critique the way they do these story elements. Time travel is another pet peeve of mine but only because they don't understand it and instead rely on a bunch of flawed bullshit that only makes sense to people who don't actually understand what the problem with it is. I can explain myself and i do.

Venting a little here but seeing a bunch of comments talking about the tropes as if they are inherently bad is just ridiculous.

In the editor, first type out your post, then select/highlight the text you want to have hidden, then click on the button that looks like an eye with a slash through it. Like how you'd bold or underline text in a word processor.

Or you can manually type <spoiler> words to be hidden </spoiler> but replace the < > with [ ]
