you can't consent while drunk. your decision making is impaired.
Yeah, at some point you have to take responsibility of YOUR OWN action.

You can't simply said the other party is 100% wrong when you have a bad judgment calls (can't hold your liqour).

If you involve in murder, that excuses won't even be entertained.

Until quite recently (new law passed in 2023 and went into effect spring 2024, I think) in Japan "rape" required "physical force". "Rape" in Japan would be what we in the US call "forcible rape", while our "rape due to non-consent" in Japan would be "you shouldn't have put yourself in that situation so it's your fault." One of the things that prodded the reforms was the man who raped his 19 yo daughter and was found not guilty because she didn't resist hard enough.

"Problems with the existing law were highlighted by not guilty verdicts in four cases in 2019. In one of the trials, a father accused of raping his 19-year-old daughter was acquitted even though the court acknowledged that he had had sex with her against her will. The prosecution's case, that the man took advantage of the daughter's inability to resist the sexual attack, was rejected."

Japan enacts laws to reform sex offense charges, raise age of consent
Japan redefines rape and raises age of consent in landmark move
  • Upskirting and other non-consent sexualized images are now illegal at the national level
  • "The definition of rape was broadened to "non-consensual sexual intercourse" from 'forcible sexual intercourse', aligning Japanese law's definition with other countries." and "Examples cited were situations involving assault, the victim being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or the perpetrator abusing their economic or social power." (Think of the NTR trope of "it would be a shame if this picture got out and Shinji lost his recommendation" or "I can get my dad to fire your dad if you don't do what I say" blackmail)

All the debate about being drunk meaning it was rape... no, that's not how that works, having sex while drunk is not automatically considered rape. When someone manipulates a drunk person into sleeping with them, that is rape. the reason drunk rape is considered rape is because alcohol inhibits your decision making and your rationale, it's then considered that getting someone drunk or taking advantage of their inhibrieted state to have sex with them counts. If a drunk person makes the advances to someone who wasn't involved in getting them to that inhibrieted state, who is not as drunk as them, then it is a blurry line depending on what happens after which is to be settled in a case by case basis.

Here the line is blurry, first it seems Blade was also very drunk and there's no indication that he wanted to take advantage of Karina, then when it comes to Karina having sex with Harumi it is not left completely clear, and I am not a lawyer, but if Karina is fine with what happened and as it seems she made the first step towards Harumi, there's little concern to be had.

Some major whiplash here.
Don't worry, it was indeed a fake out, no seggs. Well, no straight seggs anyway. But you don't remember it.

She can copy/paste now?
