I have quiet noticed that in these type of mangas(Mostly harem) when ranking is done, why do the male protagonists always gets a low rank? Sometimes below fifth or below tenth

Popularity contests don't tend to amount to much since most people have trash taste, but I'm surprised to see Best Girl Reiko ranked so highly... though Nonoka is quite a bit lower down the rankings (probably because she doesn't get into so many lewd situations).
