It looked like his optical nerve was severed in Ch. 58 during the nose slam. Can he still see or am I missing something?

It seems that when it comes to losses, the rikishi play by different rules, because although they were both trembling in fear of each other's power, their pride in sumo means that having their back touch the floor is beyond defeat. This is a very very difficult hurdle to overcome for the rikishi, so i wonder how they'll overcome it.

I still don’t get it. It’s not like this guy was the first to overpower aiki. Didn’t Jack do it in the maxim tournament? That’s the whole reason Shibukawa lost. So why are they making it out to be like this guy was the strongest opponent Shibukawa had ever faced?

Jack outsmarted him: first by biting his leg, then by moving slowly and trapping Shibukawa's arm in his teeth. He couldn't take aiki head on.
