And now that I have your attention: I read the Reddit daily and it's so boring.... I'm glad I'm not there anymore. Nothing but Yuujiro-pervs and Yuujiro glazing on multiverses, people asking where "not" to read my translations, and pretty much boring stuff besides some really good posts. It takes a while!! But I know the Baki community is an enjoyable one once you meet the new fans.

My scans are "supposed" to be bad because I wanted to promote the licensed scans. Please buy the Baki books. All scanlators versions are bad, and we need to pay the real owners of the license. Please buy the original merch and joke with the "fan versions" that are not good anyway. Project Ryoko wasted his time an effort to "ultra remastering" something that will eventually be licensed and his work will be obsolete, let's suggest him a new series?

The new scanlations will probably still be the best (and most accessible) way to read the series. Just by the sheer fact I had like twice the amount of time to work on the script, and everything is fully uncensored.

They'll certainly be remembered far more fondly than whatever the hell it was that you put out.

i don't really get the concept of this chapter. last one i could excuse and kind of enjoy at least. but how is fighting several bears at once more impressive than changing the real-life course of the vietnam war (single-handedly) and making 'merica sign an all-inclusive pact with Yuujirou every 4-8 years? fuck, i wish mangaka could be interviewed or at least questioned on their intentions, although i do respect that is a major freedom granted to mangakas. just kind of weird that they almost have as much anonyminity as banksy does lol

I can speak about this because I've read several magazine interviews and I've seen his progress weekly; only a few mangaka can pull what he achieved, which is longevity and significance in his magazine. (

Baki "used" to be a high-stakes manga that ran its natural course, Baki was fighting every week on his magazine towards the final "Father battle" and it was an impossible battle, really; nobody back then could tell how it was going to end. But it ended, good or bad, we had already "high stakes." and it's over, so, now our mangaka is very old and open to fanfic and suggestions from readers. You are not reading "Baki the grappler" anymore, it's "Baki's friends are having fun too"

Yuujiro is this mighty war god that loves fighting, so, yeah, do you imagine him crashing a UFC event and destroying 5 weaker humans? so, we have to see bears in action against him, it's just fan service, that's all. Next week Motobe could fight Jack? maybe the 5 prisoners will have another run? Yeah...Itagaki is just enjoying his netflix money until he's 90

Hahahaha, I confess I'm a fan of Beastars, but I don't think I can translate her works correctly since she has a more "acid" (sour/lemon taste) style of manga? I dunno, tried to get into Sanda but her style is probably for another type of audience than "Baki-or-other fighting manga)

I do have a lot of interest in translating a few exciting fighting manga titles that I discovered along the way (Shura No Mon also comes to mind, I should help Citrus manga with their release) but I've been busy with my real job and playing a few games.

The Wild Fang Project era ended in 2016, so I guess Baki sucked all my motivation, but it's nice to jump on cool, loose chapters like these. One thing for sure, the main Scarface series, if it continues, I will finish it since I've been waiting for more of those volumes.

(By the way, if you see me with different names, it's because I have a fan club that chases me around and gets me banned any chance they have, but I believe I can keep a tone that would give away that is the real-me-me...)

your creativity cant be much then if your only way of expressing it is by butchering series' that aren't your own. if i had a choice in the matter i would rather my soul disintegrate into the void than even breathe in your direction, waiting for spinyback to slam you into the floor again 🙏
