Considering how quickly Hanayama dropped out of the tournament in the grand scheme of things, I wouldn't be surprised if he forgot about him.Is Jack suffering memory loss from his drugs? He knows Hanayama from the Maximum Tournament.
They've never interacted. Safe to say they were never introduced to each other. Is Jack suffering memory loss from his drugs? He knows Hanayama from the Maximum Tournament.
Hanayama shows up
Stops fight
Gets hug from Pickle
Sizes down Jack
Leaves
It was hardly quick, Hanayama made it to the second round and then gave a pretty decent account of himself in that fight. While Jack VS Hanayama would be pretty sweet it would also be very one-sided. Jack isn't nice enough to allow him to wail on him and while Hanayama is strong Jack is already aiming for targets of much greater caliber.

Everyone else knows each other mainly from the Maximum tournament and Jack should also know Hanayama from there at least vaguely. That's crazy that in 80 volumes or something that Jack never met hanayama.
I just assumed that all of the main cast like Jack, aikido guy, motobe, doppo, retsu etc all knew each other like the Z fighters or something
Pretty sure Jack was the one who stepped in to stop Garland from wrecking Chiharu seconds after the Russian knocked out Hanayama in the dressing room, so he was likely there to witness that ignoble interaction at least, even if he did not interact with Hanayama directly. They've never interacted. Safe to say they were never introduced to each other.
He might've seen him back then, but I doubt he committed him to memory.
