There is only like one "It's for your own good" manga (or light novel? Both? Can't remember clearly) I've seen that actually handled it well. Not only was it not some idiotic villainous plot by an asshole stabbing the MC in the back, but he genuinely did have serious flaws that caused being an adventurer to be very dangerous for him and his friends genuinely were terrified of him getting killed and explained it to him. They parted on good terms and, when he unlocked his shonen power, they were really happy for him, though he created a new party, and glad he could protect himself.

So Raid did directe enemy attack on his supporter so he could try to get all ladies for himself? too bad it got the opposite effect.
the supporter in the party is the most important member since they can make sure to heal you, make you stronger and HELL.. they do defend you from dangerous attack.. so to attempt to remove a supporter from a party in middle of a fight is pure suicide.
