I am sorry but you talking off your ass, Manga in Japan is mainstream and, unlike comics that shotgun themselves into being niche for the people in their mid-20 by all they did in the 00's with the whole collectors crap, most series survive just fine due to the huge market that is, its even better with digital as series just get moved to the digital platform, something that comics to this day failed to do.
This isnt going to be some weird homo incel fantasy were a the MC is going around "slaying thots" because he is no-homo
wink with his buds with thicc bulging veiny ... oh right, I cannot write that word ... muscles or whatever the hell you thought this would be.
Everything I needed to know about how this would be going was in the first 10 pages of chapter 1, he is a shota and this is a bunch of very thirsty nee-sans with big boobies and they have sexo, be it implied or a bit more graphic.
Also Web Novel are usual self published, Sword Arts Online started as one and was later picked up for publication (the 10 years ... Asuna" "glup" come from the WN and was removed from the LN) so unless the author loses interrest they never get "cancelled" since nobody can cancel then, if they are picked in the past the author deleted the WN since that was likely in the contract but it seems to not happening that much lately as some authors even work on the WN and the LN at the same time, even if the WN gets a lower priority and gets updated less frequently.
And yes, this looks like they licensed the WN for this manga that is good because its less likely to end up as a advertisement for the LN like so many of the LN adaptation that after some volumes just end without the readers seeing the whole story. Chances are this will keep going until the end.
Seriously, why the hell people pick series that are literally ...
And then complain about? I mean ... coudnt you tell from chapter freaking 1?
And BTW ... the only thing she is making him do is
listen to them, she isnt making him to agree with then or anything else and she only did that when he refused, also he didnt even want to listen to her in the first place and she had to push him into listen what she was going ask.
I get that manga is mainstream media in Japan, and yes, my rants are based on my own tastes and I get that I, as part of the west, aren't part of the targeted audience this manga was created for. As I pointed out in an earlier comment, I and I'm sure some others have gotten into this story having some idea that MC was going to get seduced into forgiving the female leads for kicking him out. We were expecting that, it's the
execution of how they do it, especially after some context has recently been applied to the first 10 pages of chapter 1 thanks to this one, that I was not fond of to the point of making a complaint,
not a critique, but a legit complaint, something that we all have a right to voice.
And to throw my hat into your argument now that you've brought it up, which made me go through the pages again, I must bring up a few counterpoints that make your case a
much bigger deal than you may not realize.
1. She told him to listen to them. That much is true,
but, to take what the words
mean and how they're
interpreted are two different things, something that could make hypnotism a more dangerous tool to use than one might think if not used properly, let alone brainwashing that she so proudly declared. These are the interpretations to what the words 'listen to them' mean:
- Hear their side of their story of what's going on.
- Obey their every command.
Depending on the person, it could go one way or the other, and in the worst-case scenario, the seductress has just set MC up to not only do
everything his former party members tell him to, but her, as well. Heck, she even told him to what
she had to say numerous times. He has basically become their love slave, and only
she can snap him out of it, if there's a way to break the brainwashing, and from the looks of it, I don't think that's happening anytime soon.
2. She has not only said 'listen to them', but other
very concerning phrases. This particular quote she has commanded him to do during her brainwashing, aside from 'listen to them' and other similar phrases, had made my stomach churn after reading it carefully:
-(Page 18)
Fall in love with me ...
Look at this lewd dance in such a lascivious outfit. (Crude dialogue of her body parts). Fall in love with them, fall madly in love with them.
She legit brainwashed him to fall in love with her. A forced love. At this point, whatever his former party members try to get his attention, be it out of legit infatuation/love or otherwise,
all of that will be overwritten by the seductress' brainwash over him and he will follow what
she has to say above all others, 'because he fell in love with her'.
As she has stated before, the MC, an immature, deceived, yet innocent man who was trying to make a better life for himself after getting kicked out of the party, has legit become an experienced harlot's love slave who she can toy with
any way and
any time she wants, and mooch off the rewards he gets from his adventuring, and there is
no justifying her actions from this point onward.
