Welp... I talked too soon it seems, these guys may care... a little too much.

Kishiro-sensei is a master, this was amazing world-building, each event here led to a connected outcome, they enforce and explain each other.

I doubt the Hexenhaus is controlling this place only for a little lunch now and then, but what they could be doing with corpses? Well, actually... Tariq said himself... those aren't corpses per se, they are alive, so there is cellular activity in them still... that opens a few possibilities... and none particularly palatable... especially considering the type of story this is.

I wonder if they're being used as prototypes for the brain chip research. Slap the chip into the brain-shaped hole in the body, check if the body gains consciousness, dispose afterwards.
Brain chip are older, remember Zalem is/was the testing field for the long interstellar travel, and the bio chips were the base of that.

Making unauthorized backups of the brains (in brain chips) of the deceased and implanting them, implanting different brains than that of the original owner of the body, first steps in the experimentation of the necro soldiers technology ... There are so many possibilities of what's happening upstairs

Those are possibilities, but some of them have dubious connections to what is happening here.

The brain chips are primarily a tech from Earth, the orbital cities had a whole thing going with them, and despite the connections that exist between the planets, many of the sides that existed and exist now are/were pretty guarded with some of the things they do.

Chronologically, the brain chips could already exist now, but their use would still be limited, I think Mbady is the one that would accelerate their use.

The Necro soldiers... well, as far as I can say the Zonohedron is the org developing that tech, sure... we don't know who Dasein is or even when they may have already existed, but I think at this stage, and with some of the hints given... I don't feel like the Hexenhaus has anything to do with them.

We know the leader of the Zonohedron, and after the Grunthal's recent attack on them, I think if he had such an ace in the sleeve as an entire sect planted deep in the bowels of the Grunthal some of his reactions would have been different.

The fact the Hexenhaus planted itself right into the complex "mortuary" system of the Grunthal, they must be doing some sort of research on genetics maybe eugenics, considering how much some of the sides in this story are obsessed with those two things.

But there is one thing that came to mind with all the things you pointed out... it may be that the true scope of what the Hexenhaus did is something we can only recognize by looking at the events of the present, instead of anything major in the past.

It might be some sort of belief in artificial evolution through consumption of body parts of the kunstlers. Maybe they believe the souls of the kunstlers are linked to their original bodies and that's the key. Mbadi did a relatively similar thing with the race to the top scheme he did.

That was very good lore and I didn't expect this revelation, I under-estimated Kishiro again...

Damn, that's one hell of a way to gut punch the reader after a few low-stakes chapters. Excellent worldbuilding and art and a cool character topped off with a reminder that Keun is looking for a cult.

...Right now I'm wondering whether they only feed corpse-meat to newbies who go 'yeah there is no soul here' (and might thus be receptive to thinking of it as just meat), or whether they feed it anyway to those who do and just never tell them.

Regardless, it shows an extreme callousness and disrespect for the dead. If you get someone to accept that, it would not be very hard to accept another step towards whatever the cult entails.

Ideologically speaking... that would track.

Kishiro-sensei made a sci-fi story that has pretty advanced technology, even at this point in the past they have some pretty crazy things... but at the same time, he convincingly made that because of the powerful transhumanistic nature of his story, his characters latch very strongly to many ideologies, philosophies and religions.

In this point in particular, much before the methuselization process is created(or at least being available), the highest "conundrum" of humanity was turning into a cyborg, but because of the high cost and still in development, it is kinda "under control".

Writing this made me remember and realize even more, how FUCKED UP things are in the present... I understand why Ping shared the methuselah tech, he must have thought that if the rich and powerful had the chance to completely monopolize that tech the divide between rich and poor would become beyond astronomical, and... he was kinda right, no doubt that would be what happened, because... it is what happened to an extent, but ironically coupled with that divide because a lot of people became "immortals" the value of life got killed, defiled, resuscitated and then killed and defiled again.

Venus is... something else man.

Kishiro really doesn't hold back. Grim shit here. Got to love how he can give us some profound ideas and immediately reveal the kind of perversions that come from the most extreme versions of beliefs. It will be very interesting to see how all of this connects. One thing that's sure to happen is that Erica's body will soon be in this facility, it'll probably end up with Keun fighting Hexenhaus if they try to cut her up.
