that movie was amazing. it changed some major parts of the original, and some parts were like merging the OVA and the manga. but at the same time it took dialogue and scenes directly from the manga. beautiful art and cg, and alita felt alive. i'm worried that a sequel will diverge from the original, but i'm still hoping for a sequel, i want to see more 😎. if movie doesn't make enough money for a sequel, at the very least, the original work is getting more attention from millions of people who never heard of it before.

It was great. The action scenes and animation overall were extremely well done, Alita really came to life in the movie, both in her fighting and as a character. It also portrayed the Scrapyard very well, everything looked so familiar. In fact, the novelty of the movie may have been lost on me due to just how faithfully adapted it was.
I was surprised at how closely they followed the manga, but they're clearly taking the story in a different direction. One thing that makes me a little uneasy is how they're gonna handle Nova (favorite character, hands down). I don't think the role of main antagonist suits him very well, but as long as his character remains faithful to the original, it can work.
I'd certainly watch a sequel, if they manage to get one out.

Fluffy let me know that the movie has passed the 400 million dollar mark and Kishiro has celebrated with no Gunnm in the new Evening issue (contrary to what was previously announced).
It happened some times already (resumes in x issue, actually resumes 2, 4, 6 weeks later) and this won't be the last time, I'm sure of it. Mars Chronicle is suffering.

Rereading while waiting for updates and realized that Johan's eventual betrayal (from good guy saving everyone to shooting his buddy in the face) was foreshadowing Erica's also eventual twisted nature. Apple never falls far from the tree.
