I read the earlier chapters. Author is just describing typical boarding school dorm bullshit. Most of us didn’t win shit. Even this school wasn’t doing that well, both in the manga and irl, despite continuing the “tradition”. It’s just sadistic bullying because kids are cruel, especially in such a setting.

My point was that all male boarding school do the same new student abuse & bullying shit. All of us did sports, most of us doesn’t win shit. PL Gakuen, the school the author attended, was definitely a good baseball school. But they were good not because of the bullying culture. Just convenient excuse to keep the cycle going.

This is genuinely the best sports manga I've ever read. One chapter can be the funniest shit you've ever read, and the next can have the most down-to-earth, gut-wrenching moment that brings you to tears. To be able to flip between the two extremes at a moments notice, and to master them both is a rare commodity in manga these days.
