@alreadygone I can see where you're coming from. It is only from chap 406 that Kovac has explicitly laid out the goal of getting the childhood feeling back and seeing the center of the ball. We've seen a handful of chapters of them training with that goal in mind but we haven't seen a tremendous amount of special training as you said. I think I'll be largely content with the pace of recovery if he messes this pass up since that no-look trap is the only new thing he's learnt to do. But otherwise I do agree that it'll feel rushed and underwhelming.

@NinjaSpider right? I mean, the way it was presented to us, the feel he instinctively had for the center of the ball as a kid is the last remaining piece of the puzzle. If Ryuu gets it back, he's supposed to return to his original prodigious self. The coach even said the special training could turn out to be fruitless and it might not work. In other words, it's supposed to be a big deal. That's why I said it felt rushed to me. Can't say for sure until the next chapter though.
