Why would they simply watch a person die in the equivalent of their property?

@boomburst I believe that earlier we were told that the sea is a lot more... practical/callous when it comes to life and death, so someone dying would just be "okay cool, eventual food" rather than "oh no someone's dying, I've got to help"

@Boomburst In my view... this is not the first time a land creature has been thrown into the sea for death. What is it to the sea creatures wheater these 'intruders' die or not? The land and the sea are basically separate continents with different cultures, so who's to say they would care that someone else is dying in their lands. It's not their business?

I know he's only 1/4 komodo, but that doesn't completely dismiss it won't happen to him either, or perhaps something else will?

If his body were to start doing the same, that would erase some of those scars, and that meaningless tattoo.
But perhaps that's being too optimistic...

I feel that the background story on his mother was a foreshadowing for Legosi's physical development.
He's not done going through puberty...
