@Solipsist agreed. That is exactly my criticism with this manga. If it had mantained itself more faithful to it's original premise and formula, it could've been so much better than what we ended up with. It's like the author tried too much to make it all fit into the shounen genre, which ended up compromising several aspects of the lore and world-build she made on the first chapters.

But don't get me wrong, i'm not hating on the author or anything, i like her art and i loved what she did on the beggining, it's just that i really wish she didn't try so hard to make it a shounen. I blame Jojo.

Finished it in two days it was good but I wanted more I guess 1 more arc should have been nice .
And the ending was kinda 😕 meh .

Actually just made an account to comment on this manga, I couldn't hold it in anymore.

As a prenote to everything I'm about to say, I love beastars so much, I reread the manga pretty much every year, and am eagerly awaiting s3 of the anime. HOWEVER...

I can admit that the manga fell into a downward spiral after the ice bear arc, and pretty much ended as a 6/10 or even a 5/10, while for a while there it was a 11/10 imo. I think the characters are written fairly well, and I have a very big affinity for all of them, but melon made me physically cringe every time he spoke. Also, the non-realistic stuff took me pretty off guard, like the spots moving and the komodo teeth thing, but actually I learned to enjoy that part of it, unlike some people here.

Overall, I will say it got pretty bad at the end there and the ending itself was kind of disappointing, but that won't stop me from rereading the whole thing directly after I press this post reply button.

Long time ago I was on Netflix scrolling to see what I could watch and I eventually found beastars.For some reason I felt like I needed to watch so I did not knowing there was a manga about it. I finished season 1 and I was amazed and yes I did watched it when season 2 barely got released so after season 1 I watched season 2 and yet again I was amazed I felt the love and passion that went into this show. Jump like one and a half years later I remember that I heard that a season 3 was gonna be released and was gonna drop on the 5th of December so when December came around I watched the whole season in 2 days. And yet again I was amazed and I loved the scene where legosi was talking to his mom in the hospital bed and almost made me cry. But I was left shocked that there was a cliff hanger and I was so worried on what would happen to legosi so I decided to look for the manga. Okay now I want to clear thing up. After season 2 i found out there was a manga but I didn’t felt like reading it and I watch a video Named “The life of legosi” that video shared what happened after season two but it really didn’t go to deep into it. I think it only went through vol.10-13. Okay now I started reading this manga two weeks ago and I loved it more then the show. I was shocked there were scenes that I didn’t even now about. And I was amazed when I finally knew what happened to legosi. I was happy he was alive but now I’m happy I read the manga and now I’m even more excited for beastars season 3 part 2 even though I already know what’s going to happen. Don’t judge a book by its cover and actually give beastars a chance trust it won’t disappoint. I also don’t know how I even caught a hold of beastars while scrolling and I don’t even remember why I was on Netflix’s.
