So is it just wake up time or will this be a power upgrade? I feel like the darkness of Guts will straight up absorb the dark assassin like he's drinking a protein shake. Darkness is the fuel that drives him and it has always caused him to grow stronger.

Frankly, Guts needs an upgrade because, right now, the Falcon of Light outclasses him by miles.

Honestly the Falcon of Light is so ridiculously powerful, I don't think any power up would help

It's great that the art is getting better and better. It almost looks like an average digitally drawn Miura chapter.
The first ones were bad. Stiff, no direction, no flow, mediocre art, bad pacing.
The last episodes are getting a lot better. I wonder if they got more of the old staff to work in this.
I have high hopes for the future.

I wonder if that's something Miura's assistants feel is off-limits, like something that was so uniquely Miura's humor, that they don't feel comfortable attempting to mimic drawing chestnut puck?

This is something I never thought about. I noticed he's being drawn normal all the time again but also considered its due to the seriousness of these chapters. Personally I felt like Miura was going a bit overboard with chestnut Puck at the end. I think its funny if he's like that from time to time but we got to the point where we felt like its rare to see his non chestnut form so I'm all for him being drawn normal again.

But yeah I can very well imagine them not doing it because it was Miuras humor. I also don't really think Miura told his friend all the gag scenes he will do in the future so they probably cut short on the humor a little.

You may be right but i feel this has always been the case in Berserk, Guts is not the "Struggler" for nothing, he is always the underdog, always fighting a battle he is most likely to loose, that's the feeling i got since i first read Berserk.

Would be cool to get some power up, thought.

She showed her potential when she wowed everyone on Elf Island. With Shierke sidelined* she's been forced to pick up the slack. Also her lips are to die for, nothing to do with magic but I gotta mention it. damn she fine.

*Hope she wakes up soon I really miss her and Guts kicking ass together.
