After 8 years of discovering Berserk it's STILL the second best manga I've ever read behind AoT. Masterpiece.

The art is what separates this from your average mediocre publishing. Most Mangaka simply copy the average and go from there, only focusing on the characters themselves, and doing backgrounds cheaply with no interests.

since berserk is Fantasy, it provides an incentive to do this right. The backgrounds are probably the most impressive out of any Manga series, really fleshing out the world.

The story oddly became hyper focused on the brown woman and that’s where I kinda lost interest. It’s understandable that there’s a motive to seek vengeance, but I seriously felt like it wasn’t that deep and the brown woman was an excuse to pursue revenge.
Even the chapters leading up to the Mangakas death is still about this brown woman, but personally it’s still not that deep.

The side characters are interesting and only really serve to move Guts forward which’s leads to The side questing. To me it was tedious because I really wanted to see more of Guts evolving. Instead it became a formula like he was playing WoW or something.

As for the blond guy, after his moment he sought to unify and prevent any more conflicts by warring? His motives were not clear at all. That’s what makes him so confusing.

Anyways great art, story somewhat okay

Is 6 months per chapter expected to be the norm now? I understand that it takes time for quality work and the situation with Berserk creators, but is it expected to speed up? At this rate, I'll end before Berserk does

Masterpiece 10/10, I hope Miura's friend finishes his work and doesn't ruin the story, but the Millenium Falcon arc and Conviction arc are the best for me.

BERSERK BABYYYYY!!!!! IT'S THE ONE. THE ONLY. THE LEGEND. NOTHING BEATS IT, THE KING OF THE KINGS, THE GOD OF THE GODS. IT STANDS ALONE AS THE BEST MANGA EVER WRITTEN. YOU SIMPLY CAN'T BEAT THE SHEER AMOUNT OF PURE TESTOSTERONE THAT GOES IN GUTZ'S VEINS. LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Now seriously. It's perfect. I read every day since more than 20 years ago. Everything has a flaw, some kind of hole, not Berserk. It truly reigns as immaculate. The characters, the art, the world, the very impact of it's premise of fighting against destiny. An impossible fight against god himself, that, is every men's romance. It redefined what a manga even is, and changed the industry forever. There are chapters with 1 text bubble, and you understand everything just by looking at the character's faces. It talks about strenght, weakness, inner and outer turmoil, surrendering and dying fighting. Men growing into monsters and monsters growing into men. It's truly perfect. Nothing I will ever read will make me feel what I read whenever I open a page of Berserk, and that does nothing but filling my soul with grief. If you read it, do yourself a favor and listen to the original soundtrack of Susumu Hirasawa from the old anime. The new anime has bangers too. Inferno, Sign, Sign 2, Aria, Hai Yo, Forces, Gutz and Blood and of course, "My brother, the dragonslayer". It truly is the definition of peak, and every person that declares liking not manga, but any good story, should read it... May your soul rest forever in peace Kentaro Miura. I thank you for your work from the depths of my soul. 18 hours of work a day every day for 36 years. He wasn't only a genius, he was an admirable professional that poured his very soul into his work.
