@Fam101 In one chapter, Lian explained that Abel lost all of his loved ones and the only one he loved was Lucia because she couldn't die. I guess he quickly fell in love with her because Lian showed him kindness which he mistook for affection. Abel yearns for love so much that when she showed him this "affection" he quickly latched onto her. Also the fact that since they now have the same life-death fate, what it means to him is someone to be with him for the rest of his life essentially.
