I am definitely not the only one who is absolutely dumbfounded by the author's absolute audacity to write in stupid as hell but also incredibly convenient skills that only benefit the MC, such as "gain double melee damage when you throw away your bow". what the fuck??? this isn't even the MC being clever, like with figuring out that they didn't need health. these skills are such bullshit, there is no world in which any person would make these kinds of things when making a game. all of the skills they gained except the one that doubles all stats at low health are so fucking dumb, even then, that seems a bit dumb too.
I've said this before, but they're all joke/garbage skills that the devs threw in for the lulz. E.g. you would only have a bow if you're an archer, and if you're an archer you're not going to have a melee weapon, and even if you do, your stat distribution would be shit for melee. They're not considering some lunatic meleeing with arrows. And even if someone did, again their stats would be no good for melee. Except... Yuri's damage doesn't come from the physical action of the arrow, but rather from the spirits possessing the arrows.

And yes, devs can be really stupid too. I've seen devs completely ignore accurate, detailed criticism during beta, only to have the same problems arise again during live, followed by a belated fix.

Thanks for the translation!
As future chapters release, the older locked chapters should become free to read in time, So we're probably just gonna have to wait till then.

And the ones in the WN are the worst kind of devs, the techbros.

But yeah, I've also seen that, along with trying to make sequels when you haven't even fixed your first game (most of those companies went under), going "Lolno, colourblindness doesn't exist" (yes, really), and "Gamebreaking bug remains unfixed to this day" (Which, afaik, still applies to the Riddler Out of Bounds/Autosave problem in Arkham Origins. Ah, so fun to reload thinking you won't be falling endlessly on load, but nope, game autosaves the moment you step through that door!)

Anyway, thanks for the chapter, and man, looks like it's gonna be a wee while until we see the beginnings of full-on shitty techbro-ness.

No idea if this is the author's intent, but i imagine that this is one of those magical "MMO with dynamic, self-learning AI", and thus the system has the capability to create new skills and title bonuses on the fly

Except summoners and archers and the luck stat are said to be trash, not by the developer (they'd want every class and weapon and stat to be equally viable), but by the players who actually beta tested the game.

You'd think that an army of beta testers would notice when a skill called "Guts" lets you survive any attack with 1 HP based on your luck stat, and that someone would try to min-max their characters into becoming an invincible luck-based char, even as a joke, then notice how ridiculously OP that build is when combined with other luck-based skills.

And shit like this tends to have a nerf patch applied within a week. For mmorpg games. I dont see what excuse the author can make about mmorpg not getting patched. Its not isekai nor death mmorpg like SAO

Been reading the WN translation, there will be patches to (some) of the abilities, but then they'll turn around and find new ways to break the game, starting their WAR AGAINST THE DEVS.

The problem with that is that putting all your points into luck means no points into strength or agility, which destroys your ability to do damage or even wear anything but beginner armor. So even if high luck + guts allowed you to survive, you wouldn't be able to actually defeat anything. Yuri only succeeds because a specific combination of complete garbage turns out to work well. And even there, the key is getting the living weapon early on, and putting it into a beginner (shit stats, but unbreakable) arrow.

When testing a complex system, it's essentially impossible to test all combinations, and even an army of testers isn't going to go everywhere (especially in a limited amount of beta time).

And in the game, it wasn't a misconception of the beta testers, bow, summoner and luck really were (inidividually) weak. Much as players might prefer it, developers frequently don't balance all classes. That's a hard task in general, and would be a nightmare in this game which had a massive number of weapons available for it.
