Thank you Marionette Scans for continuing this! I appreciate it!

Also it's pretty funny that neither Mai's mother or father care at all that she's trans. Mom immediately assumes she fucked a guy and had a baby and dad's only mad cause she got her ass kicked. What a (supportive?) family.

The translation needs a bit of polishing there
Ex: Mai's father shouting: "such a delay in capturing the likes of someone such as Meifang Lapislazuli".
Can it not be simple as "Such a delay in capturing the likes of Meifang"? OR someone like Meifang

Unfortunately, we're a little understaffed so we can't release as often as our main series, so we decided to let another group take over for volume 3. It was fun while it lasted!

@NinjaGoemon Trans? If i remember right her original body got scrapped and she was transfered to a new full female body her Grimoire made to replace the original. If anything she became a Tensei(reincarnation) kind of character.

@BloodySorcerer Mai's issues can be easily viewed through the lens of a transgender narrative. Reincarnation protagonists don't come home to their father feeling like they disappointed them because they're a woman now. Nor do they have imposter syndrome over being a woman. But these are issues a transgender protagonist might go through and are issues Mai goes through. The magical change is, if anything, just an easy transition.
There's a reason we never see Mai's male form outside of her child self. And her child self is made to overlap with her current self as a way to show that there is no difference between them. They have and always will be the same person.

@NinjaGoemon Still it won't change the fact that he "died" and returned as a girl. More importantly she's not even a normal human anymore.

That's because she reincarnated in the very same life. It's closer to what happened in an anime called Kasimasi Girl meets Girl.
Alien wanting to learn more about earth land their ship in a place far from the city, but unfortunately they end up landing on top of the mc, effectively killing him. Using a form of bullshit science they manage to revive the MC by using his fate as a coin of sorts and purchasing a new life(it's a really weird process so I'm trying to explin it in a way that can be understood), they pretty much do somthing that is akin to reincarnating a person as thier own selves, since his fate as a boy ended in the process, he is revived as a girl. But Aside from his body he returns to life as himself, his memories, his likes and dislikes and all. Which is extremely similar to what happened to Mai. That's why it's more of a reincarnation than a mere gender change.

Mai didn't "die". Her body just changed. And I don't think trying to use Kashimashi as an argument is going to help when the protag for that was already shown to be feminine to begin with which also pushes it into that trans narrative umbrella.

Whats with the slave collar and how did she get it? it wasn't there at the end of the prequel and just sort of appears around ch 5. Is it just fetish fashion or something more?

Mai is wearing that ridiculous outfit because Blazblue is made by and for horny people. This is the true reason, any narrative reason is just an excuse after the fact

NEW TRANSLATIONS! Thank you so much!
Was waiting for a confrontation with the father so much!
And the mothers so sweet! I'm glad she's so accepting

@NinjaGoemon
Yeah this manga can be read in that angle pretty easily.
