All very melodramatic, but I don't see what good a doctor pre-antibiotics can do for her. Keeping her in one place with a roof over her head and not dying of hypothermia would be better odds of survival. Of course this is fiction, so as long as someone stiches her wounds closed, everything will work out, and you know an expert field surgeon will appear out of thin air.
