It's less anything hinted and just how the life Moeka's life has been to this point. Things can't get wrapped up as neatly as it did in the last few chapters, so I always feel like there's more shit bearing down the road. Might be more a "me" thing than anything. Everyone is free to disregard whatever I said, cause it could be nothing.

On the last page of the 3rd chapter Kazuki says that she only spent 3 years with Moka.

Now, either Moka met a tragic end and that's "present" Kazuki reminiscing about her time with Moka or (major cope incoming) Moka and Kazuki either separated or lost contact at some point and that's Kazuki reminiscing about the past but we get a time skip to present time and the plot is about Kazuki and Moka meeting again.

Really holding hope that it's the former 🤞
