So the mc's cheat is "clothes, rations, backpack, and awkwardly shaped metal clubs that can be used as a rifle 30 times (or more, depending on how many mags are 'standard' to carry) before the only use is as inferior clubs"? Granted, better than nothing. But if I were to get a cheat I would much prefer something that
lasts. Though as a story's gimmick, it is admittedly nicer than the standard trope where they have guns that they can magically use as much as they want somehow (either with actual magic, or somehow sourcing ammo in a stupid way)
Isn't that the case with most reincarnation / isekai unless they're directly teleported / magically brought otherwise ?
If they get hit with a truck, 'They'll be sent' 'Given a new life / chance' etc.
If they die, their soul is brought before a powerful being and sent to a new world with a body, that's depending on their pre-death age, not really the same.
If they're summoned by a portal or something, they're usually brought directly to the summoners.
No, most only copies the body, sometimes the memories (either unsaid if souls are real, or explicitly say they get a brand-new
new soul but memories were copied over to it - these stories often end up with a twist that mc is actualyl still alive and about on earth, usually with no idea about the isekai'ing their copy received).
I have never seen one explicitly say
the mc's soul is a copy (well that's false sorta, but in this context it is true. The "copy soul" ones I have seen aren't bogstandard isekai stories where they get to talk to a god before reincarnation, and the revelation is much later, or only given to reader at start and mc finds out much later, if ever. Or ones where it's not the mc at all), though I have seen ones where it is artificial and even copying/tracing fictional characters (though in those, the
character themselves are not copies (inherited abilities and knowledge, not memories and values).
