It seems a bit strange they are now together here, after the dude talked about not answering her messages for a month. On the other hand, his behavior seems fitting. Either he just doesn't even know what he's doing anymore or he's planning to spend all of his savings before killing himself.

I feel like there should've been "some" type of payoff to the dude ghosting her for a month. Like I, as a reader, would have liked to have seen some consequences to that or some conversation. You know some type of conflict from which their relationship could evolve. I mean... is she just okay with this? Girl, your arranged HS dropout dating partner put you on hold and then ghosted you for a month. I don't care how down bad you are, please feel SOMETHING about that and please communicate it, so that if you are down bad the MC can realize there's someone in his life that really really likes him and maybe he can gain some self-esteem which he desperately needs.
