On one hand, taking a break to change himself is realistically the best option, but at the same time his motives are not really solid and this could very well lead to a spiral of goals not met and more self-deprecation.
Also, I know it's not his intentions, but he's basically kind of leading her on, which will def make her miserable.
I don't know man...

This manga does better when they have few lines of dialogues, and becomes incoherent when there are walls of text like these.
I tried to think of it as impromptu word vomit of someone who is in a bad spot at first, but the problem with it is that the other charcters understand these walls of words just fine; and me as a reader is the only one left puzzled.
