Meanwhile, in RAW land...
page 9, middle-left panel

How did it went from Tooru basically saying "didn't you say you got nothing on you?" (see chapter 8, page 20) to "what did you to with the monsters I defeated?"
with Deeto/Deet/Diito answering "Of course I lied, I can't just tell the truth to a suspicious person" to "use that story (what story?)... can't tell anyone about you"
then Tooru telling himself "I'm being trusted now, ...right?" to "I'm safe for the moment, ...right?"

@BOTMAN
Up to now is merely just the first chapter of the web novel, or rather, the 16th if you count every entries as a chapter. The author completely stopped uploading last January for some reason though.

The pricing of those coins is a really heavy stretch.
The coins drawn look like they are at most 20g a piece IF they are 100% pure gold which makes no sense.
But let's say they are bigger and it's an error on the artist's part. Most medieval currencies silver and gold purity fluctuated heavily but it's safe to say they were never intended to be highly pure.
Otherwise other countries could have just melt them and remint their own currency. So even if we go by the "it's magic" argument, a pure gold coin makes absolutely no sense.
Those coins would need to be much larger and more inconvenient to be held in a bag.
Gold buyers also heavily undercut the original price to make a profit. I don't really know what the law dictates in Japan, but minted gold and silver coins are usually accompanied by a certificate here,
without the certificate , one could get prosecuted by the board of customs and tax.

I know it's just a fantasy manga, but things like this ruin my suspension of disbelief.

If I were him, I'd set up the apartment to be a classic RPG style inn/shop that's randomly situated in a dungeon, selling rare stat boosting equipment (i.e. High Cut Armor cosplay), food, and lodging, for some hefty coin. He can even offer a level-cap raising service, limited to females only.

Wouldn't they also be worth more than the intrinsic value of the metal itself, because it's minted? If I was a buyer, I'd also want to know which country/time period the coins were from, as that would matter to prospective collectors that shell out big bucks for special/limited coins. I've seen some limited edition commemorative coins from the mint that's sold (and traded) for far more than the metal content itself is worth. Now if it was just a crude bar of metal that looks like it was smelted in backyard, which happens to also be 100% pure, then I'd understand more of where you're coming from.

Not really since they have no historical relevancy, and the coin collector market is really stagnant, it takes ages to sell at a profit.
No sane collector would buy unknown coins with no background. Commemorative coins are sold as an investment and they are high purity, usually 22 to 24 karats, not meant to be currency.
It's far easier to mint coins than you think, I bet there are a lot of DIY projects on Youtube you could watch if interested. The only real issue is the price of the gold (and silver).

Hmm. I see. I guess then it really depended on the artist's depiction of it then.

I think that depends on the country, since there are still some that mint commemorative coins as (technically) legal tender if they're made by the central bank and is still in circulation...although I hear that's starting to be fazed out everywhere (if they haven't been already) for old ones no longer being circulated. So while commemorative coins can't usually be used normally, i.e to pay debts in court or taken to the bank at face value, they can still be exchanged used for goods and services at some places, depending on where you are and where you take them. No clue about the nitty gritty laws in Japan though.

Oh man, let me guess: it's not kissing that grants the "unlimited growth," it's body fluids, and some (white) fluids are more effective than others.

A timely, 2 year late response, but that doesn't sound like a great idea.

Feels like that'd likely lead to "Redo of Healer"-type scenarios.
Spoiler related.

Though there's not really any surprise to be had if you're locked up in a rape dungeon.
The pattern should become clear sooner rather than later.

On that note, looks like there's no other option for our harem members if they want to actually get it on with this impotent beta nip MC.

Re-reading older chapters, the part with the cereal surprised me because I've found out since that cereal is NOT AT ALL popular in Japan. They have cereal in supermarkets, mind you, but it's common shit like cornflakes (which they also use a lot on ice cream for some reason) and rice krispies and whatnot. Y'know all those glorious and wonderful breakfast cereals you liked? Yeah, good luck finding them in Japan. And when you do, it will likely be a small fucking bag for an outrageous price.

And I don't think peanut butter is all that popular or well known over there, either. What a horrific thought.

Why he fluster over the amount of money? he wants money right? he must have thought...

As a proper MC I've to fluster, Ms clerk please forget the XRF scan I'll give you both coins as an apology, then he surrender to US and commit seppuku.

Stop it, the only entertaining part of that is me writing this.
