giving ajari mochi as a gift to someone who lives in Kyoto is bit stupid here :dogkek: and for sure in the next chapter, the MC definitely won’t return Miyuki back to Kyoto again, he’ll probably be thinking of a way to stay with Miyuki in Tokyo instead of Kyoto.

He’s just reinforcing the notion that FMC moved just because it was her grandfathers will, so out of obligation, which is exactly what MC fears.

The only solution to this situation is that FMC makes clear that she’s with MC out of love/her own.

About the "boku" thing
I think it's not necessarily about the "immaturity" (I don't remember how it's used in previous chapters)

I'm a gaijin, so I use watashi for everything, but from what I understand, people in Kanto and Kansai perceive "boku" differently.
While both mostly used by younger men, in Kanto it's more perceived as "polite talking in casual setting", so you can still use it when talking to someone older as long as it's not in formal setting.
But in Kansai, it is more perceived as "talking to your peer or below" kind of thing.
So I think it's more that Ayano felt "insulted", kinda like "ya cheeky bastard, ya think you're in my level?" kind of thing

just walking around in kyoto is experiencing history in an interesting way! kyoto (kyōto, then known as heian-kyō) geomancy was influenced extremely heavily by feng shui practices—this is why the city is arranged like a grid, like the then chinese capital chang'an (currently known as xi'an), and surrounded by mountains. it's also why suzaku avenue, the road leading to the heian palace (not kyoto palace, they are different), was the central street in those times—it is now known by senbon street. kyoto later abandoned the heian palace, moved/relocated away from the west and the kyoto palace was built. nowadays the central street of kyoto is considered to be shijō street.

interestingly enough, kyoto can technically still be treated as the capital of japan, as there exists no legal document stating that tokyo is the capital city of current japan. political power was centralized from kyoto to tokyo, but the last de jure "capital" of japan is still (technically*) kyoto. tokyo remains the de facto capital of japan, as essentially everyone just agrees on it and it's japan's largest city. tokyo is designated to be part of japan's "capital area," but tokyo itself is not named in the legal documents as the capital of japan.

*i couldn't find any legal stuff on kyoto ever being the capital either so it may be that kyoto was also never the capital de jure or i just haven't looked hard enough yet

Knowing him, he probably will fold actually and seriously consider it, thinking he'd be "doing it for her," and I'm assuming it will be on Miyuki to catch her brother's plans and insist on staying in Tokyo.
