I just assumed the "And I" thing was a play on Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" when she hits with that key change.

It is a reference to the song "I Will Always Love You" - Whitney Houston. Specifically a certain part of the song where she sings "and I" very loudly and holds the I for a long time.

Yeah, that's what i assumed as well, not sure where it came from, though. Was also confused by the speech bubble in third panel on page one

Honestly, to me this is the perfect romantic manga. Sometimes you get tired of teenagers stressing out, or OH NO it is I Evil Woman Lady here to throw doubt on your relationship for Like No Reason!!
