it'd be interesting if the mum doesn't show up and Sami ends up forgetting or not thinking about her, and when she comes to "collect" her heir, as per the trope, she's just rejected

I've read a few other comics like this where the dad raises some demon/dragon daughter and honestly it just shows how dumb the parents are. If you can't handle raising a child, don't make one. The mother was horny, f*cked some human and is like "How pitiful I am! I can't meet my daughter! Keep her safe for me or I'll kill you. I need to go home, bye!"

I agree with this tbh. Having a kid should definitely be planned out carefully beforehand. I dream of having a kid and make my own family later on in life, and I told this dream of mine to my dad. In response, he made me do shit like keeping tabs on time, managing expenses, learning basic survival skills like cooking, etc., and lastly a firsthand experience on taking care actual children. Yep he sent me to a relative's house to take care of the daily lives of a 4 and 7 year old brothers, for a year. Let me tell you, this shit was the hardest thing imaginable when I first started, as I have no prior experience when it comes to taking care of kids. Though it did get easier and fun once I was able to figure out their patterns after a while. Now reading manga and watching anime about child-rearing have become part of my favorite pastime activities.

Taking care of kids ain't the easiest depending on the conditions and every kids and family are different and unique in their own way. Still, firsthand experience made me realize the weight of the responsibilities, and the important things needed to smoothly run a family.
