Don't know why people are saying she was mean from the get go lol.
Their different perspectives makes sense when you consider their experiences.
The MC admired his brother who put up a brave front and smiled through it all. And Miya despised seeing her friend holding it in and enduring when she was obviously miserable.
Neither is wrong and if anything I wished this dynamic stayed between them instead of the MC falling head over heels and her not being interested.
