I notice bringing up boarding up the windows and that they're stupid for not doing so, but did any stop to think that they more then likely can't? Because of the setting they are in, they:

• Don't have the basic tools needed to do such work (screwdriver or hammer for example)
• Don't have any fasteners (nails, screws) to hold the boards in place
• Don't have any boards of any kind just laying around to use...

The best they could do is try to block the windows with whatever furniture is around, but even that would only be a temporary solution, and just a slight hinderance at best against the creatures.

I do find it strange though, that there doesn't appear to be any curtains or blinds of any kind, on any window in thier little base. Either could have at least lessened the risk of outside eyes seeing them inside the bulding.
