Now that you wrote it there, it's indeed pretty strange after 21 chapters, the story is still stuck in the initial setting. There's, presumably, a whole fantasy world out there, but all we have seen are the school buildings snatched from Japan and a bunch of orcs.

The chapters are relatively short with less density of words,whilst a good chunk of time spent not corking the porking orcs is in a timeless chamber,so it makes sense.

Spending the first few days securing the immediate area,taking out the immediate threats,securing the immediate surviours,and then coming up with a future plan once stability is acquired is a sound way to do it.

Mind y'all,though,the parallel running side story has respawn style time travel,so I would guess that itself would progress the story even slower,and it would be neat to see the two stories converge at some point for a good ol' note comparison.

I'm fine with the pacing. Rescue those that need to be rescued, deal with the bully faction, move out beyond the immediate area and progress forward while the girls pee themselves one by one.
