I don't think Riji has a problem with Remu being gay.


Riji has a problem with Remu not being the pure, "only for Riji's eyes and hands" version she concocted in her own mind and then wrote fanfiction about online (using their actual names, mind you).


The "Disgusting" sounds like the same sort of unhinged stuff you hear from crazed idol superfans who find out their oshi has a boyfriend or isn't a virgin - and suddenly they start writing manifestos and sending death threats because "she betrayed the pure image of herself that was promised to me [that I made up on my own head]".

Okay, it's kinda interesting she just blurted this out directly to Remu, especially since what other person Remu is familiar with that is weirdly obsessed with "purity"? To think of it, did Niji and Meguru interact before in this story? I don't think they did, unless I forgot something. All that being said, I don't think they'd get along very well

Just binged the whole series. I love how slowly Shio put all the pieces together to bring us to this point. It's not a particularly scary story but she makes great use of dread. Any of these people individually could perhaps have moved on and gotten better if they hadn't been able to use each other to feed their complexes. Thanks so much for the fast updates.

Yeah, this is not exactly asexuality, it’s a trauma reaction. And, unlike asexuality, a trauma reaction is something one may try to overcome with a loving partner and a lot of therapy. Remu’s paraphilia seems pretty innate as far as we can tell (but believe me the author is leaving a lot of room for a Mother fixation with Remu’s familial relationship, her body preference, oral fixation, and the fact that she stayed with her father), but the other three girls’ paraphilias are all routed in trauma: Meguru walking in on her father’s affair, Meguru’s sharp reaction to Azuki’s touch during high school, and Niji’s lack of control and mother issues.

The biggest problem is that these four exist in a toxic yuri set in Japan. So the therapy they so desperately need is completely unattainable. Not much else to do but put some pop corn in the microwave and watch the train full of puppies crash into the delivery truck full of kittens tragically broken down on the express railway tracks…
