I've started rereading I Married My Female Friend, and good lord is it such a case of whiplash going from that to this series so toxic the panels themselves are dissolving. I fucking love it. And we finally get to see Niji's point of view and "quirk". Gotta say, this one seems more destructive than the other girls: a fanfic writer so obsessed with her fiction (about her own friends, no less) that it starts to warp her perception of reality.

The character work in this series continues to be stellar. Niji feeling out of control of her own life and taking that and writing a toxic slash fiction webnovel about herself and her friend is deliciously fucked up. Once again I have to ask with dread, chat are we going to get a kidnapping arc?

I also thought it was interesting that Remu decides to keep Azuki as secret from her stepsister, though different in reasoning from Azuki she is also afraid of the disgust Meguru would show for her sexual desires (and Azuki). There is another crucial difference here, as its hinted that Remu does not plan on telling Azuki that Meguru is her stepsister. The tension is felt when they start doing Meguru roleplay later in the chapter. The shoe is now going to drop from a greater height when it inevitably does.

I interpreted the last page as Remu leaning on Komugi for a bit of comfort and solidarity, not necessarily that she likes her in particular.
