I for one really liked the story and ending... there's definitely rushed parts but I feel like Meguru and Azuki had the most chemistry. Remu on the other hand I felt didn't have as much of a satisfying conclusion which is kind of sad considering this is the second main character. I feel like Azuki choosing Meguru wasn't explored enough through Remu's point of view... then again, I think Meguru and Azuki's ending together was necessary for the story. I guess in a way what I would've wanted to see with Remu is her noticing her feelings for Azuki stems from a similar place than her friend, that she's imagining an Azuki that loves her and I think that's what the story was going for though again i'm not sure... Glad Remu stood her ground though against her friend and was able to tell her sister about the clay figurines and her being accepting. I think that's a big part of what i loved near the ending
i hope this yuri becomes more popular. the drama throughout the story had me hooked, and the concept of the story is so unique and weird but it just works. i don’t mind the ending. i’m glad remu and azuki were able to accept the “disgusting” parts of themselves, and that remu was able to still be loved for the sister she is. truly a piece that makes you reflect on the parts of yourself you shy away from showing others. it more so teeters on being toxic yuri rather than being full-on toxic, but it’s the drama continuously ramping up that keeps you entertained and wondering what’ll happen next. niji you little freak i won’t form a solid opinion on you
i'm a big fan of usui's work, but this caught me off guard in a bad way. it's not about the fact that their fetishes are "disgusting," it's the way meguru's trauma was handled. why the story painted her as
"the most disgusting one"
truly baffled the hell out of me. you're telling me that it's her fault for hating sex after
seeing her literal dad in the middle of having sex with someone else
?? i'm so honest about this when i align with meguru saying that
it isn't love, but only lust
.
not once do i see azuki actually loving meguru, it's obsession about getting her perfect body to the point where she's willing to indulge in pretending that someone else is her after fucking up because she was too overcome with lust that she didn't notice that meguru was actively struggling when she went to azuki to be "touched."
instead, we're told that what she wanted azuki to do -
hold her gently
- is the wrong thought. sure, it's your average miscommunication where meguru is wrong to lash out at her because she didn't communicate her feelings then ghosting her, but come on, that's too convenient of a way to make sure that the blame goes on her, especially after what she witnessed. for her to suddenly snap out of it and blame herself pisses me off.
what's so irritating to me is that niji's character draws a lot of parallels to azuki, yet where it's celebrated in one, it's looked down upon with niji. it's so contradictory. the similarities only stop where they're confronted by the person they supposedly love because one is accepting and the other isn't. if meguru never reached out to see her again, how long would this have continued and to what degree will it spiral out of control the way it did for remu and niji?
i suppose i have to be glad it got axed early so i didn't have to sit through it, but i do not see any promising road where meguru and azuki could get back together unless they get copious amounts of therapy. this really had good potential; such a shame it was mishandled to hell along with its rushed plot.
apologies for this insane rant. i don't know what anger got over me.
