There must be more efficient ways to earn money. I guess they aren't trying to make anything crazy and are fine with just small profits to pay for 1 person's tuition, but selling games is already a very risky endeavor, so why bet on this? The argument was that they wanted something creative to actually grow in their fields and not just work for the sake of money, but is it really that important given the circumstances? Surely making a whole game from scratch takes more time than one or two part-time jobs and this would cause them fall behind on schoolwork even more.
In any case, why does it have to be an eroge? I understand the argument that it's popular at the time and most likely the target audience will care more about the content than the production studio behind it (or lack of it), but is it really that important compared to the fact that 3 main creatives supposed to develop the game have zero experience with the genre? Kyouya has extensive experience, but they don't know that and he can't really reveal it or justify it
