Well, I have to admit — if the author wanted to make Ark unlikable, he succeeded. He's not someone I hate, but I would feel extremely uncomfortable anywhere near him.

At first I thought it was gonna be some kind of dig on Iris and Ark's situation but the horror story turned out to be a shittymorph-style joke. Actually Shovier turning out that way doesn't seem so farfetched given the poor noble had to be persistent to sway her, meaning he loved her more than she did. Guess the man left feeling relieved he dodged a bullet.

Meanwhile, Rail continues to be some kind of creep... but he did deliver a warning. And the next day a possibly shady old man sold Kururi a crystal, although he did basically explain the flaming shenanigans last time. Iris didn't lose her fire magic, did she?
