As far as the girl, I feel like the orphanage was not the last time she was betrayed or failed by "good deeds". Looking at her nontantrum actions, she seems to be very much about providing for herself and protecting what she has with her own two hands. No one else can be trusted to do so.

Man, now I feel bad for her. Yes, she's a bitch and yes she's definitely in the wrong, but I empathize with her so much.

Note: I was not sold into slavery or some shit. But as a kid, I truly wished there were people there to help me with my problems. Instead, I had to help myself in a lot of situations and seeing people help those with the same problems rubs me the wrong way. I mean, I know I'm just being petty but it's not I can help myself about it.

Humans are irrational creatures at heart. Only through knowledge and experience do we start to rationalize.

So one other take I haven't seen is going to be the "Why weren't you there to save me earlier" mentality that gets to the point of lashing out of "I don't need anyone else to save me, I'll do it myself".
This generally shows up when they've had a bad childhood, no or bad parents creating an insecure attachment personality the "I don't trust others anymore because there wasn't a way for me to learn to trust".
It can also show up as selfishness "I had to pay my college debt, why should anyone else now be forgiven?"

To me it doesn't matter what she said. She was being too disrespectful. In the manga there's probably people who went through worst things to her. She was probably abandoned or something. We don't know her story so I can't say for sure yet. Plus a few chapters ago they said she always jump to conclusions and throw tantrums, which she does. I just think those type of people are annoying. She knows nothing, but still judging him badly for no reason.
