Don’t you just hate when long-lived races have so much info and agendas that when they let out one thing it actually has multiple meanings?

I’m sure the old elf‘s “take care” means he’d kill the girl were she reverted to her roots.
what are you on about? like seriously where do you get that idea.

For every overpowered, weary, old person in this universe, there is a mysteriously strong goober who looks up to them ready to be adopted.

The elf is an old hero who fought demons, the other party is a phenomenon that assumed a body of a girl with the power akin to a demon lord, connect the dots.

Didn’t say that he’ll do it unprovoked but it’s on the table.

Bel papa is an anomaly, no one can just pluck a phenomenon from a forest and raise them as a normal human child. Without him, who know how will it turn out.

Oh boy, if he was that bloodthirsty what's stopping him from killing it the first time he's seen it? I mean, why would he need to wait for Bel to go out of village to do it? You said it yourself, he's an old hero, Bel is just a crippled middle-aged man that's just a bit strong, no way Bel could stop him. Killing it with or without Bel in the village wouldn't change anything.

In the first place, he's indebted to Bel so much that he wouldn't even think about killing Bel's adopted son. But I guess nobody ever do good things for you, so you wouldn't get it.

Duude, chill. Graham is literally the old hero, stronger than Angie if I recall some replies. He is seriously concerned about Bel and his adopted son, also, he already confirmed that theres no danger from Mit.

connect the dots
The dots I am connecting is that Graham is no more likely to decide to kill Mit than Bel is.
Graham asked Bel to leave Mit with him as a favor, meaning Bel was probably planning to take Mit with him, because it is unlikely he would've left him with anyone else in the village. If Mit reverts back to the demon form while they are on the trip, Bel is the most equipped to deal with him, since he was the one to "tame" him in the first place. We can assume both Bel and Graham are equally capable of "dealing" with Mit, it is a responsibility that Graham does not need to take, but despite that, he expressed his desire to let Mit stay with him. There's nothing in the scene indicating any sinster subtext, Mit has not shown any signs of regressing back, there's no foreshadowing that that is something that might happen. And sure, Graham is an experienced and super strong demon hunter who is well aware of Mit's nature, and that is why he's probably the only one whom Bel can leave Mit with, but "kill Mit if something goes wrong" is the last thought either of the men could possible be thinking in that scene.
It's like if your friend says they will take care of your dog while you're away, they don't mean they are reading themselves to put down your dog at the first sign of rabies, even if that is something they might end doing if the dog actually becomes rabid. Oh, and the friend is a veterinarian, so they are used to putting down pets.

tfw you study magic to fix your buddy's leg but get arrested for too much science and can only fix bottles

That's my assumption, anyway.

Anyone know where in the LN this is equivalent to?

We’re currently in Volume 4 of the LN.

Anime stopped at the start of Volume 5 of the LN. But the actual thing that Belgrieve finally decides to do that spans several volumes starting from Volume 7.

That’s the sanest and most polite response I got so far. So, first of all, thank you.

I just love to be surprised with the slightest hints. There are stories out there that hit me out of seemingly nowhere but when I re-read them again the clues were there all the time.

So I assume Mr. Mage Guy here is studying a way to "fix" Bel's legs and wounded up committing a taboo and ending up in prison?

But then again that's a surprisingly lax prison for someone who committed a taboo.
