if you refer to the maid that always stays behind: she's an adventurer sent by Orphen's guild master to keep Angie in check/protect her just in case. She infiltrated the estate right after Angie got in herself.

what happens is she is commanded to fight the mage and Bel's old friend in front of the court, only for her to shame the Duke's son wanting this by pointing out how frivolous this action is and beneath her as an adventurer. When she leaves, the son ambushes her again and the mage is so lacking in a will to live, he is fine fighting Angie this time... Up until she reveals her father's name, which makes the guy stop fighting and asking about his old friend, renewing his will to live. They leave the estate while the son is unable to stop them.

I do love how the manga draws Marie. She's a tomboy but she's real pretty and her outfit is... yeah.

Interestingly enough, he does live up to the rumours after more training with Graham and uses Graham's sword. Him giving a good fight to Old Man Silver and Muscle General kinda shows how improved he got.

Can't wait for... what? 3 more chapters till Ange realizes the imprisoned made is basically her uncle.
