@degenerateafro What about his responsibility as a father? Besides, the villagers themselves should urge him to make the trip. They are so glad he's removing monsters from the surrounding lands, but don't seem to be bothered by his inability to ever see his only family member, even though they know he misses her. Especially when they know he lost his own parents early and was left to look after himself, alone, thus becoming an adventurer to provide for himself (an occupation all the villagers don't seem to particularly respect).
Anyway, all that has got little to do with what I said and you might have missed. He should be able to leave without feeling he's abandoning anything or endangering anything. Just like Angie should be able to take a vacation. The village's survival shouldn't be up to one man and the town's survival shouldn't be up to one woman, neither of which have sworn any oaths. Both places are doomed if that's how it is. It's fucked up if Red Ogre feels like he can't even catch a cold because it might supposedly see the village destroyed. What kind of life is that?
